When your computer starts to become sluggish and slow it could be a number of things. However, most of the time upgrading the memory (or RAM) of the computer will speed it up.
The computer uses RAM as a temporary and fast to access storage location, so with more of it, you can store more data that is fast to access which will overall improve the performance of your personal computer.
